The Colorado Open Golf Foundation proudly hosts the CoBank Colorado Open Championships annually at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The Colorado Open is the quintessential golf championship of the state of Colorado and considered by most to be the best state open in the country with a purse of $250,000 and first prize of $100,000. Founded in 1964 and played originally at Evergreen’s Hiwan Country Club for 28 years, the Colorado Open has seen most of golf’s greatest names compete, and win, at one time or another. The championships benefit the First Tee – Green Valley Ranch, a junior development program that exists to enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.
The Colorado Section of the PGA promotes the game of golf for the golfers of Colorado, Eastern Wyoming and a small part of South Dakota. The purpose of the Section is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf, and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry within the Section. The Section accomplishes this purpose by enhancing the skills of its professionals and the opportunities for amateurs, employers, manufacturers, employees, and the general public within the Section. The Colorado PGA has more than 825 members and associates. The Colorado PGA REACH Foundation works daily to support Colorado PGA Professionals to make a difference in our local communities. Programming ensures that regardless of your age or background, cost will never inhibit one’s involvement and enjoyment of the game of golf.
Creating innovative, high-performance golf equipment is a challenge. It calls for a profound understanding of the game and those who play it. It requires intelligence, imagination and deep R&D resources. Above all, it demands a relentless commitment to be the best. You have to resist following and insist on leading. That’s what Callaway does.
