Terry Wickstrom Outdoors Hour 2: 5/13/17

Nate Zelinsky of Tightline Outdoors joins Terry from Pueblo Reservoir to talk about the fishing at Pueblo right now, as well as Chatfield & Cherry Creek. Nate says the ladies have been crushing the walleye bite lately, and the walleye bite is hot right now in most places, including Pueblo. Water temperature is hanging around the low 60's, and the sweet spot currently seems to be around 17ft. Nate highlights where an angler's point of focus should be when fishing for walleye, and the benefits of a Lindy Rig & Berkley Grass Pig above the sunken brush at Pueblo. Nate mentions the funky bite with all the vegetation, and highlights slip-bobbers and keeping the fish in the strike-zone. Also, the Bass Obsession Open & getting fish off beds. Bob Broscheid joins the show to talk about the bill that has been postponed indefinitely, and what a crushing blow it was to Colorado Parks & Wildlife. Bob talks about the support groups coming together, and the need for large conservation organizations. Terry is upset some of the Republicans in the state senate backed out at the last minute, and Bob highlights some things we could have done better. It's a complicated process, and the same politics that get a bill pushed through are the same ones that kill a bill. Bob discusses the long division with legislature, and how all hunters & anglers need to get involved in the process. Bob says if there is no money, there will be no argument. Ronny Castiglioni of Fishful Thinker joins the show to talk surface baits and if it's the time of year to start throwing surface lures. Ronny says anglers should look for water temperature of around 58 degrees, and how big the large & small-mouth bass at Boyd are getting. Ronny highlights his small-mouth lures & buzz-baits of choice for Horsetooth, and profiles that produce bites. Also, big soft plastic frogs with heavy equipment & catching big large-mouth bass with poppers, Texas rigs & walking baits.
