Nate Zelinsky joins Terry to talk about shallow water fishing. Nate is at Barr Lake today & talks about walleye & trout opportunities in the coming weeks. Tactics to use at Barr, and why Barr Lake is one of the best-kept secrets. Nate says the night-time walleye insanity tournament at Chatfield should bring in heavy weights at the midnight weigh-in at the South boat ramp. Also, Nate says the biggest walleye are found in shallow water right now, and you can always start shallow, then work deep. Marina Manager at Navajo State Park & Marina Robb Carter joins the show. Robb says there are many private spots to camp or picnic, and Terry highlights some added activities for the trip. Robb mentions the several trails at the park, and even the wetlands super-trail to see wildlife. Also, the variety of crappie, pike and small-mouth bass available to be caught at Navajo right now. Program Coordinator at Mueller State Park Linda Groat joins the show. Linda talks about the experts available at the outdoor skills day on May 20th that can help beginners try out a new outdoor activity like bee-bee gun shooting or archery. Also, where to find Brook trout and how important it is to book one of the 134 camp sites because they are busy all summer, Mueller has come a long way from just a simple cattle ranch.
