Broncos injury update: Yet another hamstring injury

Dec 5, 2022, 8:51 PM | Updated: 9:01 pm

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Another week, another hamstring issue.

The litany continued Sunday when WR Courtland Sutton left after suffering a hamstring strain. Monday, Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett declared that Sutton is “day-to-day.”

Ten different Broncos have missed at least one game with a hamstring injury this season. The latest was LB Dakota Allen, who sat out Sunday following his hamstring injury seven days earlier during the loss at Carolina.

Denver got RB Mike Boone back from injured reserve over the weekend. He became the fifth Broncos player activated from injured reserve this campaign. Teams can designate eight players for return from injured reserve.

Two potential candidates to return are center Lloyd Cushenberry and edge rusher Randy Gregory. Gregory missed his eighth consecutive game Sunday following a knee scope. However, last week he was seen with other injured teammates who take part in separate injury-rehab workouts during practice.

Cushenberry missed his fourth consecutive game with a groin injury. He is now eligible to return; players must stay on injured reserve four games before being eligible for activation.

“Both of those guys, we are going to evaluate,” Hackett said. “We’ll talk about that today and tomorrow to see where they are at. We will meet with our medical team.”
