Broncos injury update: KJ Hamler suffers “setback”

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Don’t expect KJ Hamler back for at least a little while longer.
The third-year Broncos wide receiver suffered what Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett termed a “setback” in his recovery from a Nov. 9 hamstring injury. Hamler has not practiced since then and was considered “week-to-week.”
The degree of the setback — and a timetable for Hamler — remains fluid.
“We’re still evaluating everything right now,” Hackett said. “Obviously his care is our No. 1 priority. So, we want to be sure that we’re doing everything to help him get back.”
Jerry Jeudy also continues to be sidelined. While Hackett said earlier this week that Jeudy remains “day-to-day,” he has still not practiced since injuring his ankle on Nov. 13 at Tennessee.
Good news for the Broncos came in the return of slot CB K’Waun Williams. He was set to see limited work Thursday. It was his first practice since suffering a knee injury against the Titans.
RB Mike Boone also practiced for a second consecutive day. Denver designated him for return from injured reserve Wednesday, which was his first on-field work since he suffered a high-ankle sprain Oct. 23.
“It was good to see him,” Hackett said.
DL Jonathan Harris also worked out on the west field as practice began. Harris missed last Sunday’s game in Charlotte due to a knee injury suffered Nov. 20 against Las Vegas. Fellow DL Dre’Mont Jones also returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s work due to an illness.
Jones, Williams and LG Dalton Risner (shoulder) saw limited work.
TE Andrew Beck and LB Dakota Allen also did not practice Thursday. Both have hamstring injuries. If Allen sits out Sunday in Baltimore, he would become the 10th different Broncos player to miss at least one game because of a hamstring injury.
