Hackett, Broncos name Kareem Jackson full-time defensive captain

The Denver Broncos are trying to replace longtime pass rusher, Bradley Chubb, playing their first game without him on Sunday after a deadline deal sent the outside linebacker to Miami.
Randy Gregory, Nik Bonitto, Baron Browning, and freshly picked-up edge Jacob Martin will replace Chubb in position, but there was still one thing lacking. Chubb was one of the Broncos’ five captains, leaving Denver with a hole in the leadership department.
Nathaniel Hackett and the Broncos named 34-year-old safety Kareem Jackson a new full-time defensive captain, joining Russell Wilson, Courtland Sutton, Justin Simmons, and Brandon McManus.
Jackson is in his fourth season in Denver and 13th year in the NFL. Originally the 20th overall pick out of Alabama, he spent nine seasons in Houston.
In 2022, Jackson has started all eight games, making 47 tackles, one of which was for a loss, and he’s picked up a fumble.
