Pat Surtain II has had a pretty great start to his NFL career, and eight games into his second season he’s proved he’s not just a rookie wonder.
Surtain’s former teammate Von Miller spoke to fellow standout defender from the 2010s, Richard Sherman, recently. The now Buffalo Bill said that the Denver Bronco “is going to be the best corner in the game.”
The two raved over Surtain’s perfect techniques and talked about where he could improve.

Of course both Sherman and Miller will be Hall of Famers. Sherman and Surtain each had similar rookie seasons, snagging four picks each, making just under 60 tackles each with both just under 20 passes defended. Sherman’s second season was a lot more prolific than Surtain’s has been, snagging eight picks and making national headlines a decade ago. But both the corners are shutdown at their best.
It must give Broncos fans goosebumps to hear legends of the game rave over one of Denver’s young stars. Miller and Surtain only played a handful of games together but it’s cool that there was an overlap of two of the orange crush’s best of this generation.
