Broncos-Chargers inactives: Albert Okwuegbunam a healthy scratch

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Broncos are counting on a cluster of returning and new players to try and change the team’s trajectory in Week 6.

In addition to the activations of Greg Dulcich, Justin Simmons and Michael Ojemudia, Quinn Meinerz will return to the lineup and is expected to start against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

Meinerz and Billy Turner are both active.

But the debut of Dulcich means that Albert Okwuegbunam is inactive. The third-year tight end struggled in the blocking aspect of his duties, seeing his playing time decline steadily over the first four games. By Week 4 at Las Vegas, he played just one snap.

ILB Josey Jewell and safety Caden Sterns are also inactive.

The Broncos’ other four inactive players are:

  • CB Darius Phillips
  • S Delarrin Turner-Yell
  • DL Enyi Uwazurike
  • WR Jalen Virgil

In addition to Meinerz and Turner, five other players listed as questionable are in uniform:

  • G Dalton Risner
  • Edge rusher Jonathon Cooper
  • RB Melvin Gordon
  • CB Damarri Mathis
  • TE Eric Saubert
