Are you hype for the return of Jamal Murray on Wednesday in the Denver Nuggets season opener?
A new mini-documentary following Murray’s recovery from a torn ACL suffered in the spring of 2021 was released by TSN this month. The film features Murray’s family and an unknown bit of information which is that the star Nuggets point guard was separated from his Canadian-based family for over a year during his recovery due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
What’s interesting about the film is just how emotional Murray and his family were; Jamal even talks about his lowest moment after tearing the ligament and describes the knee pain he’s had in a haunting way.
But mainly, it’ll pump you up to see the Blue Arrow recover from being broken.
Murray already got back in game action, playing in the preseason this month but was hampered by another leg injury. But the point guard, who has not played a meaningful game since he blew out his knee in April of 2021, should be good to go come Wednesday.
Murray’s return, combined with the peak play of back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic, is leading many to believe Denver could return to where they left off, making a western conference final the last time the team was healthy. Not only will Murray be back, but so too will Michael Porter Jr., who missed most of last season with another back injury.
