Report: Broncos get some bad news, some good news on Randy Gregory

The Denver Broncos already learned of one season-ending injury on Monday.
Luckily, they don’t have another.
While running back Javonte Williams will miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL and devastating knee injury, Randy Gregory didn’t suffer the same fate. According to 9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan Broncos insider Mike Klis, Gregory’s ACL is intact. But he still needs a procedure.

So, that’s good news and bad news. Luckily, he’s not done for 2022. But he certainly won’t play on Thursday night against the Colts and likely for a few games after that.
Gregory had two QB hits and two tackles on Sunday against the Raiders before getting hurt. On the season, Gregory has two sacks and two forced fumbles. He’s been an excellent free agent addition, constantly pressuring the opposing QB through four games.
Gregory, of course, has missed a lot of time thus far in his NFL career. Some has been injury related, some has been suspension related. Durability and availability are big questions when it comes to him as a player, but the talent is obviously there.
For now, Gregory will be on the sidelines, but again, at least he’ll be back down the road.
