SEATTLE — Billy Turner’s return to Denver will wait at least one more week.
The Broncos officially deactivated him for their Monday night opener against the Seahawks. As reported by 104.3 The Fan’s Orlando Franklin, Cameron Fleming will start in Turner’s place at right tackle.
The Broncos’ other inactive players include:
LB Josey Jewell
S Delarrin Turner-Yell
DL Enyi Uwazurike
WR Jalen Virgil
Denver downgraded Jewell to out on Sunday due to a calf injury.
Given that Uwazurike was the No. 6 defensive linemen, his inclusion among the game-day inactive was no surprise. Most 3-4 teams typically activate five defensive linemen.
While Uwazurike is down, sixth-round DL Matt Henningsen will play. He is one of five rookies in uniform tonight, joined by edge rusher Nik Bonitto, cornerback Damarri Mathis, wide receiver/returner Montrell Washington and center/guard Luke Wattenberg.
