Report: Two questionable Broncos are expected to play tonight in Seattle

Sep 12, 2022, 11:18 AM

The Broncos got bad news on Sunday afternoon when inside linebacker Josey Jewell was downgraded from doubtful to out for the team’s Week 1 matchup with the Seahawks.

But their fortunes changed on Monday morning, when NFL Network’s James Palmer passed along not one, but two pieces of good news.

Both Hamler and Gregory were limited in practice last week, and both had questionable designations for tonight. But Palmer’s report suggests each guy will be good to go. Our Senior Broncos writer Andrew Mason reported Hamler said he would be “full-go” for this game, so this is more of a conformation.

Hamler tore his ACL and dislocated his hip in Week 3 of the 2021 season, but was able to suit up in Denver’s third preseason game. Gregory signed a huge five-year, $70 million contract this offseason but then immediately underwent shoulder surgery. As expected, his recovery appears finished before Week 1.

The only remaining question for Denver is right tackle Billy Turner. 9NEWS and 104.3 The Fan Broncos insider Mike Klis said on Sunday night Turner is truly “50/50” to suit up. If he can’t go it will be some combination of Cam Fleming and Calvin Anderson protecting Russell Wilson on that side of the offensive line.
