Avalanche’s national TV slate for 2022-23 revealed, featuring 14 games

Sep 7, 2022, 1:31 PM | Updated: 1:36 pm

While the Colorado Avalanche may have just been crowned champions, they’ll still be hard to view on television as the Altitude TV, and Comcast carrier dispute drags into another season.

But since they are the reigning champions, they’ll get plenty of air time nationally, which means even more people here locally can watch their favorite hockey team.

The NHL announced their national tv lineup for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday, featuring 14 Avs games. Their opening night contest against Chicago, where a banner will be raised, is going to air on TNT. They’ll have five more games on that network, five on ESPN, two HULU games, and a contest going out over the air on ABC.

The full slate of games on national TV can be found below:

Of the notable games that got picked up, one stands out highest: the Avs matchup against Tampa Bay, a replay of this summer’s Stanley Cup Final. Others feature Edmonton—a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals—back-to-back weeks of east coast giants Toronto and Pittsburgh visiting Denver, and new Avs goalie Alexandar Georgiev’s return to New York to face a very good Rangers team.
