National radio host’s rant reminds Broncos fans how bad it still could be

Wanna feel better, Broncos Country? Want a little pick me up after the debacle in Buffalo on Saturday?

Well, it could be worse. Denver could be going through what was taking place in the Mile High City a year ago.

Everyone remembers. It was “Teddy vs. Drew,” as the Broncos tried to decide who would be their starting quarterback for the 2021 season. The battle was on, with Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock splitting the reps in training camp and each getting their shot in the preseason to make their case for the job.

Ultimately, Bridgewater won the gig. It didn’t matter. Denver finished 7-10, below .500 for the fifth-straight season and out of the playoff for a sixth-consecutive year.

Thankfully, the Broncos aren’t going through something similar. For the first time since Peyton Manning strolled off into the sunset following Super Bowl 50, Denver is settled at the quarterback position.

Since acquiring Russell Wilson via a blockbuster trade in March, the Broncos have been set behind center. And they figure to be for years to come, as the QB has stated that he wants to finish his career in Denver.

In Seattle, however, the situation is much more up in the air. Since shipping their franchise quarterback out of town, the Seahawks have found themselves in a position eerily similar to what the Broncos faced a year ago. They have a quarterback battle going on, one that doesn’t feature a particularly good option.

Geno Smith vs. Drew Lock is a lot like “Teddy vs. Drew” in 2021. It’s a team trying to figure out the lesser of two evils.

Just how bad is it? Well, check out this rant from Adam Schein, a national radio host and TV commentator:

Pretty harsh. And pretty accurate.

Broncos fans know that to be a fact. They lived it a year ago.

Now, it’s the Seahawks problem. So while things might not feel very good in Denver at the moment, it could be worse. This could be Seattle.
