Nolan Arenado really just homered at Coors Field against Austin Gomber

The Cardinals just won the Nolan Arenado trade.
I’m kidding, of course. The Cardinals won that ridiculous trade with the Rockies the day it was made back in February of 2021.
But the centerpiece the Rockies received in return was left handed pitcher Austin Gomber. The former starter is now in the bullpen for Colorado, which is never a good sign.
On Wednesday night at Coors Field, the stars aligned with Arenado facing Gomber in the sixth inning. It was a battle of the two biggest names exchanged for each other 18 months ago. And wouldn’t you know it, Arenado delivered. He took Gomber way deep to left.
Just like old times. Nolan Arenado goes deep at Coors Field for his 23rd homer of the season.

It was Arenado’s 137th home run at Coors Field, but his first not wearing a Rockies uniform. Legend Albert Pujols came up next and went back-to-back with Arenado, also taking Gomber out of the ballpark.
Hey, at least the Rockies also gave the Cardinals $50 million in cash along with Arenado’s services.
Sigh.
