The Broncos continue to look at ways to tweak their roster. And it seems like one position in particular – linebacker.
Last week, Denver had veteran linebacker Joe Schobert in for a look. Ultimately, they decided not to sign the former Pro Bowl selection.
Now, they reported were in conversations for another player at that position. According to Ian Rapoport, the Broncos were one a finalist for one of the best free agents still on the market.
It was the #Cowboys or the #Broncos for Barr. In the end, Dallas gets it done. https://t.co/oiiZNWHfbG

Barr primarily played on the outside in Minnesota, where the Vikings played a 4-3 defense. In Denver, where Ejiro Evero is using more of a 3-4 look, the former No. 9 overall pick and four-time Pro Bowl selection would’ve most likely played on the inside.
What’s that mean? Well, it’s not hard to decipher that the Broncos aren’t thrilled with their situation at linebacker.
Right now, Josey Jewell and Jonas Griffith are the listed as the starters at inside linebacker. Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad are running with the second-team.
Baron Browning played on the inside last season, but he’s been moved to outside linebacker this season. He’s an option to move back to the middle if needed, so playing Barr at either spot could’ve provided the Broncos with flexibility.
But, it’s a moot point now. The Broncos were in the mix, but they missed out. Anthony Barr is a Cowboy, not a Bronco.
