The Stanley Cup mistakenly showed up at a random guy’s house in Denver

You’re sitting at home in your brand new Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup winners hat, planning your parade and all the sudden you hear a knock on the door.
You open it up and the knocker is wearing white gloves asking who you are. He’s got a big suitcase and kind of looks familiar. That’s right it’s the Keeper of the Cup and he’s got Lord Stanley with him.
The Dominion Challenge Cup mistakenly showed up to a random man’s home in Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood earlier this week, according to a post on Nextdoor.
“They got the wrong address for the Stanley Cup and were delivering it to my house instead of Landeskog’s,” Kit Karbler wrote on the social networking site. “Got to see it and touch it in my driveway!”
The Hockey Hall of Fame’s Philip Pritchard, who we interviewed earlier this month, talked with FOX31 Wednesday morning and he said more of the mix-up.
“We stopped there, we couldn’t really see the number of the house, so I said we’ll just go up and knock, what’s the worst thing, they say, ‘Hi, who are you guys?’ Sure enough, I knock, ‘Hi who are you guys?’” Pritchard said.
The Stanley Cup will be on display for all to see with Gabriel Landeskog on Thursday, during the Avs championship parade.
