Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Lord Mayor Michael B. Hancock doth declared Burgundy & Blue Friday!
The big boss of Denver announced Thursday that tomorrow will be all about celebrating the Avs. He says wear your Burgundy and Blue to support the Avs.
Hancock’s proclamation stated:
“The Colorado Avalanche, throughout the regular season, playoffs and finals, have played with fierce determination to Find A Way to reach the pinnacle of the sport of hockey, and are one win away from achieving the goal the team set for themselves at the beginning of the season; and”
“WHEREAS, the Colorado Avalanche, having last lifted the Cup back in 2001, are one win away from once more etching their names not only on to one of the most storied trophies in all of sports, but also into the annals of hockey history; and”
WHEREAS, Colorado Avalanche faithful across the city, state and world are behind the team 100 percent, and are ready with all exuberance to back their team as they look to once again become Stanley Cup champions: and”
WHEREAS. Avs fans in Denver and across Colorado and the world are encouraged to don their burgundy and blue Avs gear on Friday to cheer on the team as they look to clinch the championship in Game 5 here at home and once again lift the Stanley Cup.”
So June 24th, the day the Avs could hoist the Stanley Cup at home after Game 5 of the final, is already the team’s day. All the team has to do is make it unforgettable.
If the Avs win Friday, we may already know when the parade is.
