Oddsmakers heavily favor Avalanche to beat Blues in Round 2

May 16, 2022, 12:45 PM | Updated: 12:51 pm

The Colorado Avalanche are finally set for their secound round playoffs series against the St. Louis Blues, with the puck dropping on Tuesday.

The Avalanche are heavy favorites to advance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, according to oddsmakers. Of the four NHL series left, the Avs are by far the most likely to move on per the oddsmakers’ picks.

The Avalanche easily moved through Round 1, sweeping Nashville and then getting more than a week off between series.

The Avs swept the Blues last year in Round 1 of the playoffs, and Colorado took the season series 2-1 in 2022. In fact, the last time the Blues even beat the Avs in a regular-season series was in 2018-19. While the Avalanche captured the West’s top spot, the Blues paced 10 points behind them.

That’s why oddsmakers say Colorado is -410 to move on while the Blues are +340.

Across the NHL, both Calgary and Carolina are -185 and Florida is -175. The Avs are still the favorites to win the Stanley Cup at +190, followed by Florida. The Blues are the biggest underdog.
