The Denver Broncos are headed across the pond this fall and will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, league sources told DenverFan.com.

The clubs will play the American football match at the home of English football, Wembley Stadium.

The Jaguars have played some home games in Wembley since 2013. The 2022 contest is the first on a new three-year contract that sees the Florida club making London home once a year.

“I know coach (Nathaniel) Hackett and (GM) George (Paton) would be open to the possibility of playing in London. There’s some games in London this year, I’d love to see us,” President and CEO Joe Ellis told media in March at the NFL’s annual meetings. “We play the Jaguars, we’ll see if that becomes a possibility. I don’t know right now for sure. I’ve expressed interest on behalf of the team. Coach Hackett is bullish on it. George is bullish on it. Russell Wilson is bullish on it, so we’re lobbying as hard as we can.”

As Ellis eluded, the Broncos were slated to play Jacksonville on the road this season.

The Broncos will join the  Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the teams already known to be on the international slate.

The Bucs will play in the NFL’s inaugural regular-season game in Munich, Germany and the Cardinals will play in Mexico City. Meanwhile, the Packers are making their first international trip, the last of the NFL’s 32 teams to do so.

The Broncos and Jags matchup in London will be one of three games the NFL plans for the British capital.

The two teams matched up in Flordia in 2021, the Broncos won 23-13.

The Broncos have played one regular-season game outside of the United States in the past, a 24-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in 2010.

The international schedule officially releases on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Wednesday at 7:30 am MT.

The entire NFL schedule for 2022 drops on May 12.
