Teams in need of a veteran quarterback didn’t get a break this week.

General managers and coaches spoke this week at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, with many saying that they were planning to keep their quarterback.

Pete Carroll of the Seahawks said he is not shopping his quarterback, Russell Wilson, in a trade. Josh McDaniels of the Las Vegas Raiders said Derek Carr will be their No. 1 quarterback in Week 1.

Kevin O’Connell likes Kirk Cousins as the Vikings quarterback. San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garappolo can’t throw for 16 weeks because of shoulder surgery. And we’re still waiting to find out about Aaron Rodgers.

The Arizona Cardinals reached an agreement with Kliff Kingsbury to a five-year extension. His agent is Kyler Murray’s agent, so you have to figure they won’t trade him.

That makes it tough for the Broncos. You can see this week at the combine that general manager George Paton is spending time with the quarterbacks in this year’s draft. Paton thinks there are five or six decent QBs in the class. Most around the league concede it is not a good year for draftable quarterbacks.

The Broncos can still see if the Indianapolis Colts will trade Carson Wentz. That could be an option.

They can still look at free agents Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Sam Darnold could be also be an option.

The quarterback market is still trying to sort out, but it wasn’t good for teams looking for quarterbacks. Things are so shaky that Mitchell Trubisky is gaining a market share. That’s a little scary.
