Deshaun Watson still reportedly interested in Broncos

Jun 9, 2021, 1:26 PM

As the saga in Green Bay between the Packers and Aaron Rodgers continues, at least one other top-tier NFL quarterback still reportedly remains interested in playing for the Denver Broncos.

Joining former Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib on his podcast “Catchin’ Fades,” current Denver safety Kareem Jackson said his former Houston Texans teammate Deshaun Watson is still expressing his interest playing for the orange and blue.

“I’ve got a great relationship with Deshaun. I’ve been talking to him the last couple of weeks, and all he’s been telling me like, ‘Look, ‘Jack’, just tell them that’s where I want to be,’ Jackson said.

In an interview with TMZ Sports in February, Jackson made a similar claim, saying that Watson would be open to a trade to Denver.

“I had a couple of conversations with him,” Jackson said. “Denver is a place that’s he’s interested in landing.”

However, since then interest in Watson has cooled as the quarterback faces nearly two dozen lawsuits filed by women alleging sexual assault.

Late last month, however, DenverFan.com Senior Broncos Writer John Clayton wrote that Houston may be “seriously thinking” about trading Watson amid his legal entanglements, which could make for a backup plan should the Broncos not be able to land Rodgers.
