Ja’Wuan James signs two-year deal with the Ravens

Jun 7, 2021, 10:18 AM | Updated: 10:21 am

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Broncos right tackle Ja’Wuan James has signed a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens worth up to $9 million.

Schefter reported that James’ agents, Bill Johnson and Matt Pope, negotiated the two-year deal with the Ravens that includes $500,000 in guaranteed money this year. The Ravens are paying James $500k to rehab this year and to have him under contract north of $8 million next year.

James’ career with the Broncos was unmemorable and Broncos Country didn’t really get to see much of the right tackle.

He played 63 snaps for the Broncos over three games combined (all in 2019) since he signed a four-year, $51 million deal with Denver in March of that year.

James said he suffered a torn meniscus as well as a torn MCL in separate games that season.

The 2020 season didn’t see James play at all, since he opted-out due to health concerns with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In May of this year James suffered a torn Achilles tendon in a workout away from the Broncos’ facility in May, which ended his 2021 season before it even began.

James will rehab in Baltimore with his sights set on returning in 2022.
