Blackout restrictions lifted for Game 5 of Nuggets-Blazers series

Jun 1, 2021, 3:11 PM | Updated: 3:14 pm

According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment worked in conjunction with the NBA to lift the blackout restrictions on NBA TV games.

Local Nuggets fans who previously wouldn’t have been able to watch Game 5 (except on DirecTV, which carries Altitude Sports, or illegally) will now be able to watch Tuesday’s Game 5 between the Nuggets and Blazers on NBA TV.

Singer reports that the decision applies to all NBA TV games moving forward this postseason.

Local Nuggets fans were unable to watch Game 3 because it was carried on NBA TV.

The Nuggets will face off against the TrailBlazer in Game 5 at 7 p.m. MDT Tuesday night. The series is currently tied 2-2.

“Kroenke-owned Altitude Sports has carried all the Nuggets’ first-round games. But due to its ongoing carriage disputes with Comcast and Dish Network, most fans could only watch nationally televised games on TNT and ESPN,” Singer wrote. “NBA TV fell under a different set of broadcast guidelines and was therefore blacked out locally.”
