Ball Arena to host more fans for Avs, Nuggets playoff push

May 12, 2021, 4:25 PM | Updated: 4:29 pm

The home-court and home-ice advantages for the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche just got a little bit of a bump, as Ball Arena has received approval to increase capacity for games starting with each team’s postseason run later this month.

Under the most current capacity guidelines from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the NBA and the NHL, the venue will now be able to accommodate 7,750 fans per game — 42.3 percent of overall venue capacity — up from 4,050 (22.1 percent).

“We are very grateful for the opportunity to increase our venue capacity as both of our teams extend their exciting seasons into the playoffs,” said Matt Bell, vice president of venue booking for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.

“We will continue to work with CDPHE along with the leadership of the NBA and NHL to monitor ongoing public health matters and take all necessary precautions to ensure the health, safety and wellness of our fans, frontline workers, staff and athletes.”

Playoff ticket priority will be given to Avs and Nuggets ticket plan holders and partners through presales, and if seats remain or become available later, fans who sign up for limited ticket release waitlists will be notified.

More information on tickets can be found at ColoradoAvalanche.com and DenverNuggets.com. For facility policies and procedures, visit BallArena.com.
