What is the potential for fans attending games in 2021?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said last week that the league plans to have all 32 stadiums open at full capacity at the start of this upcoming season, but what will that take?

NFL Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills told NFL Network’s Judy Battista the league must make sure everything is safe.

“We will continue to work with public health officials … and try to do what is the safest thing,” Sills said. “What I would encourage our fans to do is get vaccinated, because that is a key step to move forward.”

There are many directions the NFL can go with allowing fans back into stadiums at full capacity.

Dr. Sills said it’s “too early” to speculate if the NFL will require fans attending games to be vaccinated or not.

“It’s a long way from the start of the season, in terms of what may change,” Sills said. “We will continue to monitor those developments … because we want to create the safest possible environment for everyone.”

Broncos Insider Troy Renck reported that the Broncos announced a price adjustment for season ticket holders that reflects the addition of a ninth regular season home game, but the team expects full capacity this fall.

Last season, fans were permitted to attend four home games with a capacity of 5,700.
