Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about incorporating the run-pass option for Baker Mayfield, and how Mayfield’s accuracy is breathtaking at times. FAN Insider Cecil Lammey joins the show to say Baker Mayfield stole the thunder from Josh Allen on Day 1, and today wasn’t the most exciting practice.
Big Al says we will see the QBs in shotgun & they should start to feel comfortable with their practice reps. Al thinks it’s time to make a transition away from our QBs in Denver and just move on, and DMac takes a look at Josh Allen’s measurements, noting that Allen likes playing in the cold. Also, Al says he’s not judging Baker Mayfield just yet, and DMac takes a look at the Broncos advantages watching drills first-hand. DMac notes that Josh Allen is living in the same house as Sam Darnold, and Al notes that each of the QBs today have fumbled a snap. Also, none of the Senior QBs are standing out besides Baker Mayfield and his height. Big Al says it’s fun to see stars on college teams be role players for the Senior Bowl, and the guys dive into 7v7 drills as practice wraps up for the day.
DMac gauges Big Al’s impressions on the QBs, and Al says Baker Mayfield won the day despite his height. After an unimpressive first day, Big Al is hoping Luke Falk is the guy that plays well & stands out above the rest. We hear from Baker Mayfield, who says ‘family first’ is just the type of guy he is, and he’s still learning the game & mentally testing himself.
