Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado named National League Player of the Week

The MVP-caliber season for Nolan Arenado continues to roll, as the Colorado Rockies third baseman earned National League Player of the Week honors on Monday.

Arenado, who posted a slash line of .458/.480/1.000 with nine runs scored, one double, four home runs and 13 RBIs over five games, becomes the second Rockies player to earn the weekly honor this season.

Charlie Blackmon, whom Arenado just outpaced last week in terms of production, won player of the week honors in late May.

Arenado’s 5-for-6 performance last Wednesday against the San Diego Padres, wherein he hit three home runs and had seven RBIs, helped the All-Star starter cement his fourth-career player of the week honor.
