Broncos defenders Harris, Talib, and Miller selected to Pro Bowl

The “No Fly Zone” — and the Denver Broncos defense in general — will be well represented in this season’s Pro Bowl, with three players from the unit being selected and another three chosen as alternates.

Cornerbacks Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib and linebacker Von Miller earned invites to the NFL’s all-star game — played this year in Orlando, Florida — with defensive end Derek Wolfe and safeties T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart being named as alternates.

On the offensive side of the ball, center Matt Paradis and wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas will also serve as alternates.

Miller heads to the Pro Bowl for a fifth time in his career, tying cornerback Champ Bailey and safety Steve Atwater for the most selections in his first six years with the Broncos. He also ties Al Wilson for third all-time in franchise history for the most Pro Bowl selections by a linebacker.

Since joining the team in 2014, Talib has been selected to the Pro Bowl each season and has been to four straight, dating back to his time with the New England Patriots, joining Arizona’s Patrick Peterson and Seattle’s Richard Sherman as the only cornerbacks to earn invites in each of the past four seasons.

Harris Jr. also earned his third consecutive Pro Bowl nod.

The game will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Jan. 29, as opposed to its longtime home in Honolulu, Hawaii, or the site of the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.

The game will also feature a return a format that pits the AFC against the NFC, unlike the previous three seasons in which players from either conference were selected by captains.

The game will be televised on ESPN, and kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
