No doubt the Denver Broncos defense will have its hands full come Sunday in Nashville when they take on the Tennessee Titans and its third-best rushing attack in the NFL.

With an average of 141.5 yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry, Tennessee ranks just behind Dallas and Buffalo in rushing offense, much in part to stout running backs and offensive linemen, along with a quarterback who is a threat in the run game, head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday.

“They have a ton of formations. They’re a big football team. They have two first-round picks at tackle. They have two backs, that not only are good backs but are big backs. This team is capable of pounding you,” Kubiak said.

Couple the Titans attack with the Broncos struggles stopping the run — they rank 28th in rushing yards given up (1,436) — Denver faces a tough situation to deal with come Sunday.

“We’ve had some issues with the run, so we know we’re going to get tested. For two big guys, they make a lot of big plays. They do cut backs and take the ball across the field. They also have a quarterback that can run,” Kubiak said. “They’ve been moving the ball extremely well. They’re tough to deal with.”

In this week’s edition of Inside the Game with Mark Schlereth, Stink breaks down how the Titans use unique formations to add just another wrinkle for the Broncos defense to deal with.
