Inside the Game: Who on the Chiefs the Broncos should fear most
Nov 23, 2016, 9:36 PM
As the Broncos and Chiefs take the field at Mile High on Sunday night for a pivotal prime-time divisional matchup, there’s one person on Kansas City’s sideline that should strike some fear into the hearts of the Denver players.
No, it’s not a member of that top-tier NFL defense, like 2015 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Marcus Peters, two-time All-Pro Eric Berry, or punishing sack masters Justin Houston and Tamba Hali.
And no, it’s not running back Spencer Ware, solid veteran quarterback Alex Smith, talented tight end Travis Kelce either.
No, as ESPN NFL analyst and 104.3 The Fan’s Mark Schlereth breaks it down in this week’s “Inside the Game,” it’s the guy on the calling the plays that Denver should fear: Andy Reid.
Despite a light-hearted approach to the episode this week, Reid has a seriously lengthy resume, ranking among the best head coaches in NFL history, including 15th in total wins (172), 13th in winning percentage (.594) among coaches with 200 or more games, and second in winning percentage among active coaches behind New England’s Bill Belichick.
In his fourth year at the helm in Kansas City, Reid’s Chiefs have won 17 of their last 20 regular season games heading into Denver on Sunday night.
